XMAS EVE TUBE STRIKE MUST BE AVERTED - FEATHERSTONE11.27.45am GMT Wed 22nd Dec 2004 Commenting on the collapse of talks to avert a Christmas Eve Tube strike, Lynne Featherstone, Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee, said: "Not much Christmas spirit flowing Underground. Whatever the rights and wrongs of the issue - it cannot be right to hold London to ransom over the holiday period. Both the unions and London Underground must get back around the table and talk until they have resolution. Passengers must not suffer because of an internal management issue." ENDS
