NEW CONGESTION CHARGE PROPOSALS ARE TOKEN MEASURE5.13.55pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 9th May 2005 Commenting on the Mayor's changes to the congestion charge proposals today, Lynne Featherstone AM, Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee, said: "At last it seems as if the Mayor is listening to some residents and businesses' concerns about extending the congestion charge in West London. But there is still a long way to go before the Mayor can prove the scheme's price hike and extension proposals are the best moves for the capital. "Ken Livingstone has yet to reveal any proper justification for these changes. I really hope the Mayor and his transport body listen to the views and concerns of Londoners expressed in this particular consultation. Unlike the West London Tram, which seemed to just dismiss much of the opinions of the majority of local people."
