YEARS OF FARE RISE MISERY FOR LONDONERS10.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 21st Sep 2004 Commenting on the admission at Ken Livingstone's press conference that the travelling public face three more years of inflation busting fare hikes, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Transport Spokesperson and Chair of the Transport Committee, Lynne Featherstone said:- "Londoners long suffering travelling public have three years of inflation busting fare increases to look forward to. This massive rise in fares and the prospect of more to follow is Livingstone showing his true colours of tax and spend without regard to the impact on hard working Londoners. "Londoners deserve better than dishonesty over pledges, incompetence with the budget and whopping fare rises. These fare increases are the ultimate political sell-out for a man who has based almost his entire political career on calling for Fares Fair." ENDS
