MAYOR MUST SORT OUT BULLY BOYS ONCE AND FOR ALL - FEATHERSTONE

10.37.22am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 17th Sep 2004

London Undergound Tube station sign

Commenting on the threat of strike action on the Tube by unions at New Year, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Transport Spokesperson and Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee, Lynne Featherstone, said:-

"Of course employees are justified in raising concerns over any number of issues with their employers. However, bullyboy tactics of threatening strike action every time union bosses are dissatisfied with negotiations is bad for business, bad for the Olympic bid and bad for the travelling public.

"At the beginning of a new 4-year term the Mayor and Transport for London must sort out transport labour relations for once and for all."
