CAROLINE PIDGEON AM WELCOMES HIGH COURT DECISION ON ADDISON LEE

Responding to the announcement that the High Court had rejected Addison Lee's call for minicabs to use bus lanes Caroline Pidgeon, Leader of the Liberal Democrat London Assembly Group said:

"This is a very welcome decision.　 Taxis have access to bus lanes due to their special status allowing people to hail them down in any location.　　

"Allowing all private hire vehicles in bus lanes would be a disaster for millions of bus users and cyclists.　　 Such a decision would　not only　slow down London buses but also make cycling far more dangerous.　 It would have caused increased traffic congestion.　 I am glad the High Court has made such a sensible decision."
