"It's clear that that messages coming for Mayor Boris Johnson's office and senior police officers from New Scotland Yard are not necessarily reaching or being heard by local Borough commanders on the ground" said Councillor Pidgeon. "The plans for Southwark need to be stopped, while the Met carry out their review and local people's concerns must be heard during this review."
"At the next Mayor's Question Time session in City Hall I will be calling on the Mayor and his policy adviser on policing to meet with me and the three local East Dulwich councillors to discuss plans for East Dulwich police station, now the immediate threat of closure has been lifted. I am also wanting to discuss the future use of Rotherhithe and Camberwell police stations too."
