"Londoners are more than tired of RMT's brinkmanship" - Pope

Liberal Democrat Transport spokesperson on the London Assembly Geoff Pope hit out at the RMT union leadership for "brinkmanship" in calling for, and then suspending at the last minute, a three-day Tube strike that was due to start on Sunday in protest against PPP contractor Metronet transferring employees to their partner company Bombardier.

"Both Amicus and the RMT's own negotiators agreed a very beneficial deal with Metronet on Wednesday night. RMT's Executive went back on this to back a three-day strike. Londoners are more than tired of RMT's brinkmanship over an issue that has already been solved by sensible negotiation."
