12.00.00pm GMT Sat 19th Mar 2005

Commenting on the failure of Transport for London or the Mayor to find a winner in the 'Cool Tube competition', Liberal Democrat London Assembly Transport Spokesperson, Lynne Featherstone, said:-

"The huge delay in announcing that there was no winner finally tells Londoners that this so called competition was nothing more than a gimmicky load of hot air devised by his spin-doctors."

ENDS

London Underground and Ken Livingstone ran a 'competition' to see if anyone can come up with an innovative and workable solution to keeping the Tube cool. There was a total prize fund of £100,000 available if such a solution could be found. The closing date was the 12th September 2003
