SECOND TUBE FREESHEET BIDDING WAR MUST BE OPEN AND TRANSPARENT

Commenting on the long-awaited report by the Office of Fair Trading that agrees that a second free newspaper can be distributed on the London Underground, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Transport Spokesperson, Lynne Featherstone, said:-

"Opening up the Tube to more free newspapers can only be a good thing for long suffering Tube commuters.

"It is now vital that the Mayor and Transport for London hold an open and transparent bidding process to ensure that Londoners get the best deal."
