PROPOSED C-CHARGE RISE ABOUT INCREASING REVENUE RATHER THAN REDUCING CONGESTION - FEATHERSTONE
11.47.18am GMT Mon 1st Nov 2004
Commenting on the admission by Mayor Livingstone on the Jon Gaunt Show that he is will raise the Congestion Charge by a minimum of £1, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Transport Spokesperson, Lynne Featherstone, said:
"The possible increase in congestion charging to a minimum of £6 by the Mayor is a statement of the bleeding obvious. He has often gone on record to say that he didn't care whether the C-charge was making or losing money. However, this price hike has nothing to do with reducing congestion but everything to do with raising a bob-or-two."
